I have a Loaded Micro Compact Operator which has an ambi safety. I am thinking about putting a CT Burlwood grip on it. But I've read where the existing ambi-safety either has to be replaced or modified.

I see where Wislon has a short right side ambi for like $55. Can one just put a standard left side safety on it?

If so how difficult to change it out? Detailed instructions with pics would be great; I'm not asking for too much:)

Thanks so much.

Yes you can put a standard safety on pretty much any 1911 with an amb-safety. I have done it on both of my TRPs and my Kimber Warrior. You will more than likely have to do some fitting. I had to file a small amount from one side of the one on my Warrior to clear the sear.
