I'm thinking about getting a Springfield WWII - the price is just really hard to pass up. I know before I even get it that I'm going to want to change the sights on it. Can anyone tell me if this is a big deal or not. I'd like to put some Heine sights on it and I'm not very familure with the low (small) sights that come on the pistol (other than the fact that I used them when I was in the Army and I didn't like them). Simply put is changing the sights something that a gunsmith would have to do or is it something I could do myself? Would the frame need to be milled?
Thanks

I'm not sure, but I think with the Heinies you will have to mill the slide.

Another option is the CMC drop in Novak style rear sight. You will have to put on a larger front sight to work with it though. That one is staked.

You also might consider spending just a few dollars more on the Mil-Spec model . It comes standard with white 3 dot sights as well as the enlarged ejection port .
Just a thought .

Both will give you good service .
