Hi all,

I'm new to 1911s so please bear with me.

I recently bought a new Charles Daly 1911 and it seems to function just fine, except for one problem. For some reason, about 1/50 trigger pulls result in the hammer falling to half cocked and not striking the firing pin. Does anyone have any clue as to why this might be happening?

Thanks in advance.

Does that trigger have an overtravel adjustment screw in it? Another question: While the grip safty is pushed in and the trigger is pulled if you pull the hammer back and let it down carefully, can you feel it catch on something?

From what they are telling me in the Charles Daly forum, this is not at all a 'normal' problem and is in fact a defect with the gun. I am most likely going to ship it back to KBI for repairs.

Thanks a lot for your help, though.
