The Feb/Mar 04 issue of Handguns magazine has a Charles Daly HP review article.

internals are Hungarian finished in the US. Trigger broke at 12 lbs and with the XS sights the author achieved 5" groups at 25 yds.

The pistol shown has single sided safety.

I was also going to say: Charles daly figured out how to make a dificult trigger and abominable one. The article said it was 12#, "two stage release" and "very gritty".

I don't feel so bad now for getting a new Browning HP that had a 9# trigger that released in three big steps as the trigger was pulled.

I too have a Browning HiPower. THe trigger was real gritty until I flushed a bunch of crap out. It is heavy and rough but not 12 lbs heavy.
