I'll be able to pick up my new Colt 1991A1 next month. I did get to inspect it but I was wondering about the finish. The slide looked "blued" while the frame is parkerized (charcoal gray). Couldn't really tell under all the packing grease but I didn't think it looked too uniform.

I was a little disappointed because I wanted the fully parkerized Mil-Spec look. I'm not going to stay up nights worrying about it but I am thinking of parkerizing the slide.

The gun is all blued. The slide flats are polished, while the frame is left matte. If you want the gun to be parkerized you'll be having the entire gun done, which isn't a big deal to any shop with a parkerizing setup.

Speaking of Parkerization, I'm totally satisfied with the factory Park finish on my WWII Repro. I recommend the finish highly. Here's a link that may get you started in the right direction..... Parkerizing Service
