I know, I know, it's not a .45...

...but it is a Colt...

...and it is a single-action 1911-style gun....

...so...

Anyone here have one???

I just picked up a .380 Government Plus II in 98% condition. After I put it through the ringer, I'm going to send it out to Scott, McDougall & Assoc for their PCP (Personal Carry Package) and some Novaks.

If you have one (or don't), please share your opinions...

I've always wanted to get hold of a Mustang. Looked at them several times, had them in hand and always passed because I had "no cash." Never let that happen again if Iget the chance.

I've had the Colt Government .380 for many, many years and really like it. Great hideout gun--use it in the belly band, ankle holster, or even your pocket. I just wish I would have bought one more, and I will when I get the chance. I found in my classes (personal protection) that many of my sudents showed up with them. Perfect package---1911 only smaller. I have 10 other 1911's--still love them--but I carry the .380 as a back up to my primary weapon. The only thing that I have done to it was put on a C&S thumb safety(it's just a little bigger). Works great!! Al

I've got 3 Mustang's and a Pony and think they are great little guns. I carry the airwieght a lot when the bigger guns just don't fit. My first was the Pocketlite, 12.5 ounces empty. Has NEVER fialed to fire and cycle. I bought my next one, all stainless, because I was worried about wearing out the Pocketlite at the range. The last one is blued steel and I bought it because I thought is was a deal, $375.00 out the door. It needs a little cosmetic work, but it ran perfectly, as all of them in my experience seem to. I am less enthusiastic about the Pony, although it runs fine. The trigger is on the heavy side, but workable. I think I just prefer the Mustang because it works like my favorite big gun.

Chuck - Wow! Thanks for the pic of your customized Colt 380 mustang! Makes my mouth water and other parts of my body rigid (okay... semi-rigid since it's only a .380 instead of a .45acp or 9x23 or 10mm).

Looks like I need to save my pennies and get this done to my Mustang Pocketlite.

Thanks again,
ILoveMyColt
