I looked at a 1943 Colt today and the barrel markings confused me a bit. It have the correct colt .45 auto on the under side, the P pn the left lug , but it was not to the rear but over the top of the link pin , nothing on the right lug. On the underside forward of the lugs it has the large G , but it also has an uppercase N that is smaller than the G between the G and the lugs. Is this the proper barrel for a 9090xx ( might be 9096xx??).

Did a little searching , this page shows G over N from 900000 to 930000 so it appears this may be correct even though it N over G ??
