Factory Colt parts seem difficult to obtain and I need a recoil spring for a Commander 45. Ball ammo is all I shoot.
What weight spring would be correct and who is the vendor?

Wolffs springs are good. (gunsprings.com) Their web site has a lot of information on springs. I believe 18 pounds is what you are looking for on a Commander.

Yup, 18# is factory.
You could also take a look at www.brownells.com for a good selection.

18# spring is factory standard for a Commander. Use of a 20# spring is quite common. Colt's doesn't make gunsprings to my knowledge anyway. They also have no written replacement round count I'm aware of. If cases are going into the next county you probably need a new recoil spring.
