So I won a Colt Competition 01970CCS on GunBroker for $900. I wasn't looking to buy a Colt, but was comparing the SA Garrison to some comparable Colt models when I ran across the auction and it was sitting at $869 with about 7 hours left, so I bid it up to $900 just on a whim and I win it. So what do you think of the Colt Comp?

Good enough for government work.

You got a decent price if shipping wasn’t too high, I recently bought one for $935 at a local store. Mine seems to be good quality, had a few hiccups with the oem colt mag, but wc, cmc and Springfield mags worked fine. Mine has a near 5# trigger, not going to carry it, it will be a range target handgun so I have a c&s kit on order.

When you can buy a Colt at under MSRP, it’s a good day.

Love mine, you need at least 1 Colt 1911. I won't criticize mine, it isn't perfect [yet] but it is a fine pistol. Shoots very well.

I just wrote a review on mine:

I did not like a few things about mine at first (bad trigger and safety), but after some work to it, I love it now.

Picked it up yesterday and it was filthy with oil, just like the RIA I bought, soaked! Cleaned it up and got it ready for some break in this morning. One early observation is the trigger is crap! There is a small glitch just before it breaks that has got to be fixed. I had a SA LW Operator that did it and it was the sear and disconnector not mating well, had some Ed Brown components swapped in and done deal. Really like the fit and finish of it, it's the Blued version and it nicely done.
I will report back on the range session and keep you updated on the pistols progression during break in.

Colt does things their way, the barrel is machined a little differently and there are the 2 recoil springs. A few other things also, The 2 recoil springs seems like a good idea. I've already replaced the trigger and did a trigger job on it. I really like it, shoots great!

I run this Colt for USPSA Single Stack. I do have a backup but I have not needed to employ the backup. So that speaks to durability of the gun, at least for me it does. I have a little over 2000 rounds through it.
