I really.like this one since I also served in the Marines 8 years before my Army career. I was a die hard 1911A1 Marine before the transition to the M9 which I hated. I rejoiced when the Marines returned to the M45A1. Anyway I had to get one and it's been with me ever since.

Not my cup of tea but I did know a leatherneck who bought one back in 2014. He was so excited about the purchase and I wouldn’t blame him.

Not my favorite color, but most things associated with Marines gets my attention. Early CCS version with USMC rollmark.

To me the best thing about the M45A1 was that it pissed off the Springfield boys cuz Colt won.

I am also a fan of SAI MC Operator. Either one won was fine by me.

What floored me was the way the USMC-marked ones as well as the genuine surplus ones shot up in price the moment they were offered for sale. The cheapest version is worth several thousand dollars. Some distributors sold them for a modest price, and they were quickly bought up by price scalpers who flipped them on Gunjoker for several times what they paid, making it impossible for most of us to buy one at MSRP. Fortunately for me I wasn't sufficiently interested one to play that game.

Did Colt recently drop the line? 45a1 model went on website today could not find one at to order. And yes i know about all of them i was the one who started it all back in 2015 2016 with the sale. Just was wanting to buy another ion bond. And see its not in catalog.I am sure a 2023 licensed web page from Colt still works. amongst the CZ BUYOUT.
thanks in advance for any info RON K.

It was in the 2023 pdf version of the catalog, but Colt website remove it. So no idea what the hack Colt is doing. Haven't seen Colt make a batch of IonBond brown M45A1 for a long long while.

The custom shop version still on the website, but now 2 tone with front strap checkering, not the original USMC configuration. Combat Unit version rail gun in black is still on the website.

My work around holster when kydex doesn't fit the mood. A Colt M1945A1 is the best shooting pistol I own and what a shame Colt has moved on from the ionbond brown model. It is a fine USMC Service model and one that shouldn't be forgotten by Colt leadership in spite of their foreign executives. It should be right up there with Colt's SAA's.

My M45A1 is not only my EDC. It is the best shooting firearm I own. It has set the bar high for my next firearm. I’m seeing on Gunjoker 2 M45A1s with test targets dated 04-23. That gives me some hope that Colt will continue production on the M45A1. But of course the prices are in Les Baer, Wilson Combat territory.
I heard from another member they ordered those over a year ago and just got delivery. Which tells me really nothing. a special Order and Colt got them done finally. with buy nows of $3500 and $4000

Only a real Marine WILL PAY THAT I better get hopping. ha ha. RON K.
P.S. If we start the hype again They will follow.

This is like SAA all overall again. Colt has never officially killed the product, but also rarely make them available. Ended with people going to Italian clones.

Apparently Colt has its own thinking on the M45A1. But it need to look at the near "clone" trend by Tisas. People are buying those, that means USMC M45A1 sells. Colt, bring it back on the production regularly.

Colt is supposed to be the one "Still Making History!"

There’s one on Gunjoker for almost $4,000 Buy Now with layaway option. If I hadn’t already put a firearm in layaway that M45A1 would be already gone. As a backup to my already adopted M45A1. Something about having 2 of the same firearm just seems right.

To me $3 g is right.I sold 2 a few years ago both custom shop with no U.S.M.C. for 3 g each.green case, And another 2 non shop in blue box for $1800 each. The u.s.m.c. are the real money ones in my mind. There is also one at $3,500 buy now its still there. Many thinkers should I. But many like well if another comes along. the black and 2 tone are nice. But they just don't do it for me. a Colt afterthought gun at best.RON K.
Personal opinion that is all. They are still all 45a1'sRON K.
