I have seen Colt use the name "Colt" and "Colt's" one their rollmarks (on firearms and mags). Is there any reason for this?

because they are colt....and the products are theirs.

Colt has changed their various rollmarks numerous times over the years. Some instances might be for a new model coming out, dies wearing out, or change in ownership. Nothing to be concerned about as a purchaser.
