I have two XS pistols, a combat commander (Dealer Sample) that I bought when they first came out and a Government that I bought a couple months later.

I was told the Combat Commander was a dealer sample, sent out to distributors to get comments. This XS is different than my Government XS or other XS Commanders I have seen. The grip screws, front sight and guide rod are different and it seems tighter than my Government. Also it came with a 7rd mag and the slides ejection port is beveled a little more than my Gov XS. Is this pistol really a dealer sample? And if so well it ever hold a higher value?

Second I haven't paid much attention to Colt for a while, what is the XSE? Is it built as well as the First XS line? I saw one picture and I already don't like the trigger, but is the quality the same?

How are things down in Peoria? I have visited your community often and really enjoy Peoria. How's the action at Lone Wolf in Glendale?

As far as the XSE & the XS Colt guns, do a quick search of previous postings and you will find a ton of info on these two types of pistols. Both are excellent, however, the XS guns have a certain mystique about them due to their limited availability. Many people believed the lie that Colt was going out of business and not selling to the public while the hard core Colt collectors were out searching and scarfing up the XS guns as fast as they could find them. Originally priced at about $675, these guns will fetch about $175 more if still NIB. As far as the dealer sample story goes, haven't heard anything about it.

Peoria is doing OK, getting BIG though. I haven't been to Lone Wolf for some time, but I know all of the shops are having a hard time keping things in stock.

Man, I wish I would've scarfed up some of those XS models when they were in current production. arghhhh....
