I bought a new Colt C.C.O. and would like to know if a Full Lenth guide rod is a good upgrade or should I leave it the way it was intended. I looked at Wilsons system on there site, they claim it is the way to go.

I want some real world experiences! Is there a recommended brand, etc.
If it is worth it, it looks like a job for a do it yourselfer. I'm going to install a new trigger and springs, EZ-Loader and some other goodies at the same time.
I'm dying to spend some money at brownells, any input would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Ala brownells website
Wilson EZLoader: Drop-In/Flared Magazine Well Opening Speeds Reloading
Provides the flared magazine well opening needed for fast, sure reloads without heating, grinding or beating on the gun. Loosen the grips, slip tabs over the stock bushings, file flush with the inside of the magazine well and replace the grips. Magazines should have "bumpers" for best functioning.

Rob I put a long adj. trigger (my preference)in my C.C.O. and it shoots great. You need to put some serious rounds through your gun and see if it works or not. If it ain't broke........

I would go with the company that came out with the part and patented it. S&A or Smith and Alex. That is only speaking for me personally though. I Like giving credit to krebs for snake skin and so fourth. Part of being fair I think.

Thanks for all of the advice. All well taken, reason for EZLoader -- CHEAP, Makes bigger hole, every little bit helps....Trigger - I would "guess" it to be 6-6.5lbs with a little take up, no creep, 4.5, even 5 would make me happy. AND that stock peice looks like hell, IMO. The gun is a shooter, shooting slow using the sites it will keep pace with my Pro-Carry. Improving on double-taps was my thinking for the guide rod, due to a little more weight. Again only having the Kimber to judge against, it needs just a little tweak here and there.
George, what part are you refering to, the guide rod?
