I read this in another thread.
I think that we need a Commander only Photo thread!
I liked the idea and thought...
If you build it, they will come.
If people like the idea it will thrive. If not it will die.

So I'll kick this off with my carry piece.
1991A1 Colt Commander.

And the newest member of the family.
Colt MKIV Series 80 Combat Commander.

Just Love these commanders, After seeing these pics, I feel I need more,
I have a colt mustang, an officers, and a few government sized pistols, But the commander is my favorite to carry!
Here is a 1952 vintage Commander.

And in this pic is the '52 with a 1991 made Lightweight commander just behind it,,

Love them both,
But only carry the 1991 built one!
Thanks,,,
I look forward to getting a bib for when this thread grows bigger!

Commanders....

....did someone say Commanders....

Top: 1952 .38 Super, BarSto barrel, MMC night sights, AWP hard chrome, daily carry gun for the last year.

Bottom: 1951 .38 Super, MMC fixed sight, hard chrome, elephant ivory grips.

1952 Commander, BarSto barrel, 10 shots at 10 yards. Was my daily carry gun from 1980 till early 2007.

1951 9mm Commander, 27 shots at 50' using a bought off eBay Colt made .38 Super barrel. Has 80s vintage MMC adjustable sights and a replaceable blade front.

This is a friend's .38 Super XSE with a newly installed Nowlin 9mm barrel and Fusion adjustable night sights.

Same friend's 70s vintage .38 Super after the instalation of a properly headspaced BarSto barrel. 9 shots at 10 yards.

And since...

...it looks like we are doing the "heavies" also (Combat Commanders) here are a few...

70s vintage .38 Super in electroless nickel...18 shots at 7 yards. MMC fixed sights and BarSto barrel.

70s vintage blue with fitted .38 Super and 9mm BarSto barrels, BoMar sights and Pachmayer/Peters Stahl .22 Conversion Unit.

...with the .22 Unit installed. Shoots like a S&W 41 match gun...

El Potro "The Colt" from the Lew Horton "El" series of guns....

Recent GunBroker "BuyNow" purchase.... .38 Super that someone put some money into...front sight was a little short for the taller BoMar rear so it is in the shop having a taller night sight installed.
