3-Question...

#1 Can Colt Commander Slide be fitted to a Colt Government Receiver?

#2 If this is possible, can a 10mm configuration be set up in the Colt Commander & Colt Government receiver build gun.

#3 If possible is there a certain Caliber commander slide configuration necessary.

My reasoning, I am Colt enthusiast and would love to have a 10mm built in the configuration above, now I am aware of building “Fusions” as well as “Caspians”, but want to stay Slide & Receiver Colt.

Please excuse my ignorance.

1) Dust covers on the commander frame are shorter.

2) Yes, if its a .45 ACP frame it will have to be milled for a ramped barrel. Between the two the para/clark is supposedly stronger and would be ideal for the 10mm.

3) Slide should be a .40/10mm to have the proper breechface....but I seem to remember the yost crew doing one with a .38 super but that probably required a bit more work....dont know for sure. Someone also mentioned one time if you have a .38 Super frame the feedramp can be massaged for the 10mm without cutting it for a ramped barrel.
