A member in a local club started making these cool led lights that connect to the back of your steel target and let you know when you have a good hit. Worked really great on rifle stages of the local rimfire competition I attended, but they mentioned they gave it all kinds of testing in 3-gun and I think long range as well. Check it out http://tracerhitlight.com.

Great it's not like we have to avoid shooting chronographs and now we have something else to shoot! :)

Sensor is on the back of the target, so no worries there. In the local club cables are tied to the back of the stand, but I could see damaging that with a "lucky" shot... :)

Still think it is a cool product - made the rifle stage of the match go much faster!
