As Jolly Rogers said, it might. The crowning is simply insuring that:
1) the exit point at the muzzle is exactly the same all the way around (accuracy),
2) that it provides protection to the rifling form normal bumps, bruises, nick, and cuts,
3) that it looks "purty."
Crown shape is pretty much what you prefer as long as it meets the above listed criteria.
