Extremely nice piece. I don't think it will be too long before customers start asking their smiths for the "Brian Bevel" on their 1911's.

Thanks for posting this pistolwrench! I didn't know the forum was back up.

Tim did an amazing job on my Commander. It was a complete pleasure working with him on this project. A true gentleman!

Brian Bevel - kinda catchy, like that

this is my favorite pic, shows the slide bevel and slide stop area modifications

Thanks to everyone for the kind words, Tim deserves them.

Weaker

Does the Brian Bevel reduce the strength of the slide in the slide stop notch area? This is a really cool modification but does the stop notch lose any strength by being reduced in width/depth? Just curious.
Spectacular!

I really admire your work, Tim. :)
Gee guys, I thought this one was asleep...... ;)

Thanks again for the kind remarks.

Big Daddy, this modification does not compromise structural integrity. It is however, very important to use the right slide stop (I use EGW) and fit it properly. It must engage the slide stop notch completely and correctly. When that's done, no problems.

Cheers, Tim

P.S. George, just send the endorsement check directly to me.... :D
Ok Tim

But 500.00 every time is killing me!
Can't you just cut it back a little :p

Did I mention the Your Work is Very Good Indeed!

Thanks for the info. I saw this gun in several places and found this thread on it so I thought I'd ask. It's a SWEET looking pistol. Nice work.
Damn it man! Have you no shame?

You keep pimping this thing around the net, before you know it my wife has kicked me out...

I have already spent too much money over the last two months and this is like waving coke in front of an addict...

*drool*

I really like the way even the front strap is beveled.... nice attention to detail.
C'mon George, throw me a bone here. I'm just trying to get even for that $50,000 weld job........

BTW, I've long admired your work, too.

Shame, Preacher? Of course not - it's just what I do... :D Besides, it wasn't me that put it on the net. You'll have to find someone else to blame for messing with your wife's checkbook, heh heh. Give you a hint, though. I think he goes by 'BK' if you want to track him down and hate him. ;)

Cheers, Tim
