Customer Service Question

623 Views 7 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  Rick in Oregon
I have an opportunity to pick up a very slightly used Custom II 10mm. In the event that issues crop up, how is Kimber when dealing with a customer who bought a used gun? I’m hoping to never need their customer service, but I hope they would stand behind their product even though I’m not the original owner.

Thanks for any experiences you can share!

I never had to return my (slightly used) Custom II for fitting, but I did call Kimber to see how old it was based on serial number...and they promptly told me. I've been pretty happy with mine.

I used their CS on a new gun recently. Not happy that I needed to use it, but the CS was pretty good. I wrote a little note with my issue on the packing slip and also asked if they could smooth out the trigger and install some new sights. Got a call a few days later about the sights (which I passed on based on the cost/time involved) and got the gun back a few days later. It was less than 2 weeks. And they did polish and lighten the trigger and adjust the pre-travel and over-travel, and they deburred and polished some of the slide and barrel. So. While it had to go back, I’ve now got one that was completely made over by a gunsmith.

The Warranty is for one year to the original owner from date of purchase. I have never needed to contact them except to register them for the warranty. I do not know what the CS department offers at your cost. Better to call them as find out what services they offer. Mine have been 100% since NIB. No issues and no complaints, quite the opposite.

Nothing but good things to say about Kimber customer service. Cost me zip except for the postage TO Kimber.

Kimber CS has gone above and beyond for me. Never needed them for any trouble. And i never hesitate to buy a nice used Kimber. A great pistol from a quality company.

I called them recently about a used pistol I picked up. They dated it for me by serial number and told me there was no service history on it under warranty or non warranty. They were very helpful.

If you go over to the Kimbertalk forum, you'll see raving reviews regarding Kimber CS, all pretty much positive in every regard.
All my experience with them has also been very positive.
