Cutter marks inside slide

1154 4
Hello again!

I visited range the 2nd time today, and my SW1911 stainless basic model performed flawlessly - again. After I sanded the recoild spring guide rod, the action is much smoother. But when I was cleaning the gun afterwards, I noticed more cutter/machining marks, this time inside slide.

The whole area around and above barrel is "serrated" with cutter marks, and with even deeper grooves that what was in the guide rod :( The marks are clearly visible to the eye. It does not seem to affect reliability.

Do you have these marks, and do you think it would be a good idea to try to sand them away?

If you get bored while watching TV you could work on the cutter marks.

Get some fine paper and use the end of a hard stick to rub the surface.

TAKE CARE NOT TO SAND THE LOCKING LUGS.

There is no real need except cosmetics.

enjoy,
Bob
