Can anyone tell me when my Government Model was manufactured? Serial number is C875XX.

Perhaps there is a site with a list of serial number ranges posted?

Thanks for any help you might provide...

Doh! I suppose my Grampa having a 3/8" tall Patridge front sight silver soldered on it in '62 didn't help the value any?

Thanks for the reply!

Back when gramps soldered on that sight the value of old Colts wasn't much anyway. Today it isn't much either now that it's non-original, but I'm sure it must have some sentimental value to you regardless.

That's a fact. I do love that pistol. Value is really a matter for my estate to worry about... I'm a shooter, not a collector.
