Hello everyone.

As you can see I'm new here but have a question.

I'm going to buy a Springfield 1911-A1 Mil-spec today and was wondering how to tell the difference between the Mil-spec and the GI just by looking at it?

The MilSpec has a lowered and flared ejection port, it has different sights from the low profile GI blade sights. The MilSpec also has slanted slide serrations where the GI's are vertical...that should be enough to tell the difference.

The slide serrations do make it easy to tell right away. I just went onto springfields website and saw the differences in the picture.

If your money is still in your pocket spend the extra few bucks on the Loaded.
