When I read the "Tac4 won't lock open after the last round" thread (which is inexplicably closed) I kept reading about Dimples on the Slide Stop.

I just sold my P14-45, so I couldn't check that, but my all original 1967 Colt's Commander, which I've had forever, has no such dimple on the slide stop.

Sample of 1 for sure, but there ain't one and this puppy has worked flawlessly (including at least one combat tour) without one.

I'll have to see what the Para CCW slide stop looks like when it arrives.

It would be interesting to email Para and see what their explanation is for the filing of the dimple out of the slide stop on the replacement that they sent.

The reason Para removed the dimple and shortened the length of the slide stop, was to allow the mag follower to push up on the stop with less force required. By removing the dimple, there was less resistance needed for the stop to move. By shortening the stop, there was less plunger spring force holding the slide stop down. Both those modifications allow for easier slide lock when empty.
