I've been intending to get a 1911 for some time, and finally bought one of the new loaded Springfield's. I've never owned an automatic before. I've put 350 rounds through it so far, and have one particular question. Many of my spent shell casings have "dings" about halfway up the casing, almost like they were struck with a punch. Is this normal ? If not, what is the typical cause and correction ? I haven't tried an alternative type of ammo yet. I'm using Fiocci currently.

Thanks. That is exactly what I'm talking about. I too was wondering if these casings would be reloadable, assuming I start doing that in the future. Appreciate the help.
