...A few years ago, on a Bourbon Trail experience with my wife, after the tour, decided to try a sip of Woodford's Bourbon, and decided it was nice...
Tee hee, is there a better bourbon in existence, at any price?

Ugh I can’t stand whiskey rum or anything like it I like a good cold brew like yuengling or coors but the Church I joined mandates teetotaly no alcohol so I had to give up my occasional brew but I don’t really mind. That being said I look forward to feasting in heaven and enjoying the wine we’ll be drinking and see my Church families faces when they are served wine! Now I’m working on eating less calories but fortunately a good steak is fairly low calorie and nutrient dense so I still enjoy a good T -bone preferably from steer on grassy pasture and fed sweet feed as well. Like one of the other posts said let the steak warm to room temp then grill it hot and fast like the Duke said sear one side then flip it over and repeat! Hot red center with plenty of blood running out yum yum! Got all three of my 1911’s cycling perfectly it just doesn’t get much better! Semper Fi and Can Do
I tried both ways...letting warm or cooking it cold...I found the trick is to get a good fast sear...I just salt & pepper sear in on a cast iron grill with butter, garlic & rosemary...and again make sure I have a cold dark beer in one of my paws...Semper Fi...hell anything is better then C-rats...

Linie brand Aquavit from Norway is a caraway infused liquor sort of like gin, but different aromatic flavors. Linie is Norwegian for "equator," because to this day, each barrel is shipped around the world, from Norway to Australia and back, crossing the equator twice during the journey. They claim that the rocking in the boat, the ocean air, and the changes in temperature and humidity all go toward making it taste better. I enjoy it whenever I can find it.

No, we like the little bitty personable Sipapu.

We used to do Taos, Breckenridge, Jackson Hole years ago, gave up on the huge resorts.
Wow! I grew up in NM, and had to look that one up. Kinda figured it was probably in that area tho. Beautiful for sure! I miss NM but it has been running too far left to move back. We do visit a lot though. Took the travel trailer to a campground in Alto, south of Capitan and Lincoln up in the mountains heading to Ruidoso.

I haven't been to Cloudcroft in probably 15 years. It's been a few years stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas but we lived in Las Cruces. My wife and I would get up on a Saturday morning and go to cloudcroft to Ruidoso for the day fairly regularly. Beautiful area.

Lincoln County went 68% Republican last national election. Granted that's not a huge number of people but I think I could live there.

Yeah we really love the "ski up hop on lift with no wait" routine. We know several people on a first name basis that work there after years of going there. It's skiing, and it is cheap compared to a big resort.

I just came back from some beautifully cool 45f days in northern NM.
I used to love Sante Fe, Taos, and a tiny little place called Tres Ritos near Taos. Used to live in Monte Vista, Co. My grandpa had a cabin in Tres Ritos. I haven't been back to northern NM in 30 years. Probably not quite the way I remember it now. I was always amazed at how different Santa Fe was from Albuquerque only 64 miles away. Santa Fe is 7000 feet above sea level, pretty close to Cheyenne's altitude where I live now. Temperature drops like a rock at sundown. Always cool at night!

I am going to smoke a chuck roast at 250f this week. I don't use one at home but at work we have a pellet smoker. It does pretty good for a low maintenance solution while working.

Start it late morning, by 5pm its ready to rest in a small ice chest, wrapped in foil. By 7pm when dinner is ready...watch out.

This thread reminds me of the very best times of my life.

Mixing a drink or two for my dear sweet bride.....firing up the grill and cooking us some dinner while we enjoy some music.

Then an evening hanging out together without a care in the world.

The very best times of my life.

My ex's family fasted and did not eat meat on Fridays during Lent. Their idea of fasting was dining on lobster at Joe Meur's restaurant.
Hey, I love lobster and most other kinds of seafood as well. I am talking about REAL seafood, not batter fried crap that most "seafood" chains shovel out.

Alas, I do not drink alcohol. I have too many nasty PTSD (non-military related) problems already without adding fuel to the fire. I remember when I did drink though. It made me into an even worse A-H than I was already if that's possible. So everyone enjoy my share of the fire water and cheers!!!! 🙂
