How is it some people have custom messages under their name? Some have member others have something different.... I havent seen an option for this in the user CP for this. Could someone shed some light on how to edit this?

Also the use of an Avatar seems to be disabled, is this normal?

No new avatars or custom titles are permitted at the present time. They may be again offered in the near future when the "Donation" function is re-instated. You can still input a custom "Sig line" that will print at the bottom of each of your post such as mine (In red below)
