Can any of the cops out there help me out with a duty holster?

I wrote to Safariland asking about the 6280 and whether or not I could carry the gun in condition one in this holster. I'm still waiting for a reply.

How about other makes and models? We are not restricted to condition three carry and condition two is out of the question.

What are the rest of you using?

My last duty holster for the 1911 was a Bianchi "Auto Draw 2000" a break front security hoslter., It was secure if you did not know the trick of making the draw stroke but was dadgum fast if you did.

You may have to advertise to find one, I think Bianchi stopped making that hoslter for the 1911. Damned shame too but the market for 1911 duty hoslters dropped when all the wonder 9's came into usage.

Herr Walther,

I ran into the same problem when I tried to buy any duty rig other then an Uncle Mike's. I was told if I wanted a Safariland 6280, I would have to wait 6-8 weeks because it had to be specially made. I believe Jim V is also correct; I tried to find a Bianchi and was unable to locate one of those also. I finally ordered a holster from DiSantis. Don't know too much about them but figured I might as well try them since I wasn't having much luck anywhere else. Thanks fellas. I just received an e-mail from A. Martinez at Safariland stating that the 6280 will fit in condition one carry. he didn't say it was a special order though.

I'll ask my local dealer to ask their distributor.

I'll also check the "For Sale" board.

I gotta hit the sack. I start all over again at midnight.

I carry daily with the 1911 , theres only one holster for duty thats the Safariland top gun model 200 , nothing else compares to me .

I just got a Don Hume H727 for a LEO instructor class on the advice of Jim Higginbotham. It's level 1 retention (thumb snap only) and I'm very impressed by it's comfort, fit and easy draw.

Wonder 9 = Hi-Cap 9mm (wonder if they can hit anything with 17 rounds?)
