EAA 22lr Conversion Kits

Recently purchased a 22lr conversion kit for my Colt 1991a1. Long story short...it doesn't work. Dealer sent the unit back to EAA and it has come back "repaired." We tested it on a Springfield frame and it works great. Took it to the range and it doesn't work on my 1991.
Are they series 80 sensitive?
