Just got a new Ed Brown and I have will post a range report soon. Just unbelievable - the fit, finish (a beautiful blueing job),reliability and accuracy are outstanding. Makes me wonder why I never see Brown's mentioned on this board alot. I think it is nicer than the CQC I had.

I have two Ed Brown 1911's and I agree with you about the fit and finish of these pistols. They are really beautiful. That being said, I also have several Wilsons which I really like. They are as reliable and accurate as the Browns for less money. Which is better? I don't know. I like both brands. It is nice to have a little variety though.:)

FB3: I agree about the Wilsons. I think the blueing of the Brown is more appealing. I guess I am getting older because I sound like my dad - "you can keep those new age finishes and give me a good ol' fashion blue one". It is nice to have the choices, though. So many 1911, so little time.

Congratulations! I have a Classic Custom. They are very well made. I don't know why the Brown's aren't mentioned more. I think the quality of their work, service, and delivery time are outstanding.

You should be careful talking to FB3...you may end up with one of Brown's rifles :)
