EDCX9 Hits 8,000 Rounds Today

The last few years my EDCX9 has been somewhat neglected though it serves bedroom duty with a TLR8 attached. I took it out to the range last week to test some new bullets and after the range day was logged in I noticed that I was at 7,700 rounds. Today was decent weather and took it back out with 300 rounds.

Started with shooting an 8” plate at 25 yards, then three IDPA targets were set up at 10 yards. Ran a few drills from the holster on those but then another shooter arrived and I couldn’t shoot in front of the benches anymore and so the last 225 rounds were shot at about 14 yards. Also ran another 50 or so at the 8” plate at 25 yards.

All in all a good day, no photos at the range but they seem to always look the same.

It is down on my bench and will get a good cleaning later today or tomorrow.

This gun has been flawless over the 8,000 rounds with the exception that last year some debris got into the disconnector channel and it would bind and then release. Obviously not the guns fault and a thorough cleaning solved that.

So here is the dirty girl.

I'm not trying to be a wise guy, but what does bing and then release mean?

Congrats on a fine pistol.
APG:
I admire people like you who keep such detailed records of rounds fired. I'm just a dolt without discipline. I have a couple of EDC X9's which I alternate shooting on a weekly basis. I'll take a couple hundred rounds and have a good time. I also shoot siblings and half siblings of the same or different caliber--throw a box of ammo in the bag for them to snack on. But I never keep tabs on what I shoot until the ammo box is empty of something. And then I have a crisis.

I enjoy your posts. Thank you.

Rob

Congrats on a fine pistol.
Spell check got me and I didn’t notice it. Bind and then release.

Congrats David, mine has a quarter that much (I don't carry mine and shoot it not often).

Congrats, they are amazing guns and perfect 1911-ish workhorses. My X9L is right at/slightly over 6k and going strong. In fact, the trigger pull which started at 3.5# is down to just at/slightly under (yes, under) 2#…just from shooting.

I recommend this series to anyone who wants 100% reliability out-of-the-box in a double-stack 1911.

A toast to another 8k in yours!
