The ejector has broken off on my GI 1911 that I was given 50 years ago. It no longer runs 100%. It has always been an excellent shooter but I have replaced a few parts over the years. It is a Colt vintage 1914 according to its Serial #. What type ejector did it have. Is it an extended ejector?

No. All 1911s up until the .38 Supers used only the standard non-extended ejector. A factory replacement ejector should work just fine, or else if you have an extended ejector lying around just grind off the extension.
