I just picked up a EMP 9mm. I like the compact size and prefere to shoot 9mm over 40 cal. My only wish was that the 9mm frame was a steel rather than alloy frame. With a good carry rig I find the weight negligible but the steel frame feels more ballanced in the hand and eats more recoil.

If I bought a 40 cal EMP could I put the 9mm slide on its frame? I suppose this is a question for SACS but was wondering if any knowledgeable person here knew of a reason they would not interchange. Thanks in advance for your time.

We have worked on a gun that had a steel frame from a .40 cal version, but it was 9mm. The customer traded for the frame. i.e. He traded frames with a guy that had a .40, and now the guy with the .40 has a LW Aluminum frame on his .40 and the guy with the 9mm has the steel frame.
