Approx. How long does it take to receive a new Kimber after you order it from a Dealer????

SMASH45,

I placed an order for a Polymer Gold Match last Thursday... I'm told it could be as many as 2 months before I see the firearm... It's worth mentioning that I live in Canada and expect that this might have something to do with it... but I could have a Colt or SA tomorrow...

Who did you order your Kimber from? I have talked to a few dealers around the country but none of them carry Kimbers.

n2299,

I don't mind at all...

I called Kimber and they only have one distributor/dealer in Canada... The Shooting Edge in Calgary, AB (can't find their number just now
)... I called them and they suggested I call P&D Enterprises in Edmonton 1-780-420-6419 (home turf as luck would have it)... I've delt with P&D in the past (bought my AR-15 there in fact...). Good people and great service... and no, I don't work for them
Ask for Diane.

Depending on what your looking for, James at The Shooting Edge apparently has a number of Kimbers "on the way"... no Polymer Gold Match however...

KnowBuddy,

Thanks for your reply.

I tried doing a 411 search on the web for Shooting Edge's phone number but had no luck finding it. I sure would appreciate it if you can post their phone number when you find it.

I'm in Ont, never dealt with P&D before but did pick up a Sig 220 from Milarm a couple of months ago.

I'm looking into maybe getting a Custom Target.

Delivery times...

KnowBuddy, n2299,

I got my new Kimber Pro CDP from Bauer Shooting Supplies in VA, http://www.bauershooting.com/

They promised me my new toy in less than a week. 3 DAYS later, they had it in stock. Unfortunately, it was a Series I, which is not legal in Kalifornia (not BSS's fault, mixup at Kimber). Much to BSS's credit, they let Kimber know ASAP, and the Series II was on its way to my local FFL 2 DAYS after the mixup. Talk about pull with the Kimber factory...

Emails arrived with every new bit of info and I can't recommend anybody over BSS. They'll get my biz when I'm ready to buy another Kimber (uhhh....tomorrow? hehe...).

Hope this helps,

/TCP

I got my Pro CDP from Bauer as well and was also pleased with the results. There was a small problem with the original shipping address, and they did a great job of keeping me up-to-date on what was going on with the package. Very helpful people.

So Bauer Shooting, anwheres else I might want to check out? I will never buy from a gun shop in my town. Overpriced and they act like they are doing you a favor selling guns to you. I have seen custom stainless II's for 833.00, plus tax and state fees. Gun legislation here in CA isn't about gun safety and keeping them out of the wrong hands as much as it is the money the state, and dealers can make. Making money is one thing, exploitation is another. But that is the nature of our economy, it thrives off of the exploitation of another. Sorry, went off on a tangent there...

I don't know where you are in SoCal but if you're close enough try Martin B. Retting in Culver City. Retting's prices on Kimber, SA, Wilson, etc. are very competitive. On my last order from an out of state by the time I got through with shipping and FFL I'd saved $10.00. For $10.00 I'd rather support a local.

The people at Retting have always been very helpful, but then I usually try and go early before they get busy.

I too just ordered from Bauer sports. The owner Brad called me back with a price on a Kimber Custom Polymer I was looking for and had the best price I had found. He indicated it would be in within a week and gave me a total with shipping.
I'll let you know when it gets in, but so far everything looks good.
