I have a Custom CDP and have put about 100 rounds through it. As I was cleaning it today, I noticed etching on the guide rod (full length) from about the middle of it to the distant end, about half of the circumference is affected. The marks are straight down the length of it, almost as though there were burrs in the recoil spring plug although there are not any that I can see or feel. Anyone ever have this problem?

Don't check the plug, check the spring! Check the tag end of the spring that sits in the plug. That "pig-tail" sometimes has a burr on the end of it.

Shane - you were right on the money. There's a tiny burr on the spring - gotta find my file.

Thanks!
