Etching on hard chrome

In purchasing my hard chromed LB TRS, I noticed the etching of the Thunder Ranch shield and the numerals on the other side of the slide were not as deep as they should be. Is it possible to send out a hard chromed gun to have it more deeply etched without damaging the finish?

Paladin,

You can deepen the etching but it will cut through the chrome. I doubt that it would rust but it might. One option would be to deepen the ethcing and then fill the etching with Moly Coat or or some other filler.
