Has anyone replaced parts on their P-16? I looked at one the other day in the gun store and like it except for the need of an extended slide release and safety, a hammer similar to the one on my Kimber, and a better higher grip safety.

Pictures would be appreciated if you got them.

Plus he said a SS P-16 was $633. How's that compare to elsewhere?

I installed a Wilson extended slide stop &
safety on my P-14. Safety was a dropin fit, slide stop needed some fitting: 'U' shaped area where slide passes thru needed opening up slightly. Extended part of the lever needed a some extra clearance where it comes close to spring/plunger tube above the left grip. Extra postive side of the slide stop is that the pin that goes thru the barrel
link is oversized & I get a little better
bbl to slide lock up.

You may want to match the inside of the slide stop to duplicate the one that was in the gun? (where it hits the follower)

Kobra, you will probably want to replace the sear also. wile your in there.

Actually I did measure the different points
and duped them to the Wilson slide stop.
I also modified the extracter abit, deepend
the claw, & tweaked it a hair to provide a
better grip on the spent shell. Also added
an extended mag release with a Wolf 10%+
spring. Kept the stock sear, but swapped
out hammer, grip safety & main spring housing for GI 1911A1 versions. I'm a 1911
.45 collector as well, and I like the traditional USGI .45 look.

Upon researching it some more I see that the P-16 Limited appears to have most of what I want on it already. I may just go that way.
