These guys may know their German guns, but they're completely clueless about 1911s. The serial number was applied after the fact, making this a lunchbox or possibly an end-of-war presentation gun as many pistols were assembled from leftover parts and given away to employees and VIPs.

LOL, last weekend was at a small show in central Florida. Mostly a Big joke as one guy had a couple Type 99s labeled “ with Complete Mum”, half the Mum had been ground off leaving half barely visible, give me a break.

This guy is supposedly from my area. He sets up at one of my favorite shows, the FOTDV antique and historic arms show in Allentown. Unfortunately, I haven't been there since pre-COVID due to other health & physical issues. I'll have to make it a point to attend the next one, and take my 1943 Rem-Rand!
