Thought I'd try here first before calling LB. I just wanted to know if anyone knows what the ratings/weights are on factory-installed recoil springs in Les Baer's 1911s?

Specifically what are the factory-installed recoil spring weights on the follwing models:

Premier II
Thunder Ranch Special
Stinger

Funny you should mention that as I just received 2 new recoil springs for my Premier II today. The full size models use 18 lb recoil springs. Can't help you out with the Stinger though. Call Baer Custom at (309) 658-2610 and they will set you up with the right one.

I believe the Stinger uses a 22 lb. variable rate spring.

TRS... I believe it's a 18# variable. Let us know what the folks at LBC tell you.

My TR Specials came with 18.5# variable recoil springs. Here's a link to an earlier thread where Jim @ Les Baer listed the spring weights for the TRS.

Yes 18.5 variable for the TR
