Its been a little tense in this forum! What do you say we lighten the mood a little. How do we do that, you ask. How else, let's look at some cool pics of your favorite 1911/knife combos. It is a knife section in a 1911 forum after all!

All peasants, samurai's, country boys, sandwich cutters, hard, and non-hard knife users welcome to share them pictures!

Who knows maybe we can get a new sticky started!

Nice DeVito!!! I just saw a Specialist in person, it was stainless. I had to do everything I could to not let myself add it to the collection.

Never held a 1911 grip knife. Do you find it comfortable?

It's very comfortable and durable enough for anything

Top photo - Colt pre-Series 70 Combat Commander, Yurco fixed blade and Baskett folder, both custom made knives with 1911 stocks for scales; bottom photo both of my Baskett "1911 Scale" folding knives. Gene was one of the first custom knife makers to make folders with 1911 stocks for scales - predating the factory versions by at least a decade.

Aww man. Don't tell anyone, but I don't even have a 1911 currently. I have several magazines, three sets of grips, ammo, and a duty holster, and will have one again before long, but just not right now. Beretta, Kahr, S&W M19-4, old Bulldog. Those I got. Just waiting to pick up a 1911 again. It'll be parked and GI type when I do.

Maybe I'll dig out the parts and accessories and take a pick with those and a knife. :D

In the meantime those are sweet guys. Very nice.

Amos, thats just sour grapes, man! We forgive you though! Let's change this thread from your favorite 1911/knife to your favorite firearm/knife thread!

By the way it was cool to find out you have experience at Fort Drum. Tenth Mountain is bad azz! That is in my neck of the woods. I will be driving through there Monday AM. There is an awesome knife dealer there at the army surplus store. Might have to stop in and browse a little.

An all American combo

I like bowies and I'm proud of it. This is a sub-forum associated with the 1911 after all, not one catering to sushi chefs and sandwich slicers. Is it so difficult to understand that I'm interested in the martial aspects of blades?

It's just too bad this knife isn't world legal.

3" 44mag, ouch!!! My hand just hurts thinking about it! Bark River woodland special, one of my favorite woods combo!
That is a sweet combo!

My last M29 was a 4" nickle plated. I had a S&W 641 no dash at the same time. I used to joke that after a two cylinders in that featherweight .38 Special I had to go shoot something softer like that .44 Mag with factory loads. LOL.

Well, let me sneak this shot in for now as it is a blade and a handgun. Just a tomahawk and a Henry Mare's Leg .22lr.

Speaking of Ft. Drum. I wonder if Vecchio Brothers pizza place is still there outside the Evans Mills gate. Great wings. The first time I ever gave wings much thought and I have never had any as seriously tasty as those since.

I used to live in the quarters up the hill across the road after you left the post. I obviously haven't been there in a long time, but Evan's Mills proper and those little places up that way, Alexandria Bay, and Sackett's Harbor were nice little places.

Amos-I spent four months surveying the Black River. It involved measuring cross sections roughly every thousand feet. It started in Watertown and ended at the Base. I swam most of it, and used a little inflatable with a six horse on it. That was one of the best jobs I have ever worked on! Oh, and I had my knife on me at all times. Even while swimming.

When we where next to the Base, a blackhawk flew over, noticed us, and flew back to us. It hovered over the top of us and scoped out the situation for about two minutes. The pilot dipped the nose down to me, made eye contact, and then spun 180 degrees to look at the guy I had on shore running the transit. He then spun back to me, lifted and took off. We where in an off limits area of the river and am sure we looked sketchy, but had permission to be there, since the job was being done for FEMA! Its definitely an uneasy feeling when you have a fully loaded Hawk starring you down!

Anyways-Keep them pictures coming!
