Well, I finally got my new SA and immediately headed for the range. On the advice of members on another thread, I lubed it before firing, and it loosened up great during a long session. Terrific gun--I prefer it in most ways to my previous 1911--a Gold Cup. I fired a lot of old reloaded target ammo through it, and I suspect it was too old--tarnished brass, etc. It ejected fine, but there were some jams. I also fired a box of new ammo, and it fed and ejected perfectly. Thanks to all for the tips, and I can promise you many dumb questions in the coming months.

Congratulations and glad you like it--hope its the performer mine is. It quickly became my favorite handgun.

Congratulations! I'm sure you'll love it; they're great shooters. And the only stupid thing about asking questions is not asking them. :)
