Most gunsmiths will dunk everything in the tank unless you say otherwise. Feel free to leave anything in-the-white or unrefinished if you want, as long as you can keep rust off of it. Conventional bluing shouldn't affect the dimensions of the parts at all.

Hard Chrome builds up the surface by a tiny amount, something like .0005 or so. You might affect the trigger pull slightly by plating the finely honed surfaces, but the amount isn't enough to affect other parts.
