I have been enjoying getting into competitive/tactical shooting and am looking to upgrade to a gun for that purpose. Two of the top contenders are the FireHawk and the STI DVC-P ,both would get RMR red dot's and the FireHawk would also get the Double Stack upgrade. Both guns seem to have recoil and mussel flip compensation. I would appreciate any comments comparing the two for that purpose. A 3rd option is the WC EDC X9L.

I have a DVC-P and love it. I would look at the cost difference. I did not know about the Nighthawk when I ordered my DVC-P but would still have made the same choice. I use mine for work, EDC, and for pistol matches. It shoots amazing and I am confident with it to 50 yards. As long as I do my part this pistol runs and hits everything I intend to.

NHC would have been my choice.

I'd like to listen in and hear more from folks who own the Firehawk (especially in 45)...I mostly shoot comped 45 these days as the years are getting on :-( and own an STI carry come, a Wilson carry comp, and a Wilson Custom 5" +comp. They all shoot very well. The STI is not exactly made to the same "ruggedness" as the WC's but still a favorite of mine...Our friend Striker got me interested in the Firehawk in another thread, and I am intrigued with the 5" barrel (including comp)...I assume NH is on par with WC (+/-) so I am more interested in thought's, experience, on how the Firehawk shoots vs other comped guns, if any FH owner's care to comment.

I had the good fortune of picking up a Firehawk in stainless (45acp) at the end of January. I’ve wanted a Nighthawk for quite some time and finally decided to splurge. With that said, the guns build quality is exquisite. The guns shoots beautifully and is far more accurate than I am capable of shooting. With regard to the compensator is does tame recoil some, it is less than I had hoped though. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed

My double stack Firehawk was quoted 10 weeks, it's been about 12. No worries as I've been running a Staccato XC while I wait. Fast, flat and fun.
