The Hogue MSH I got for my Citadel compact needed considerable filing to fit right. I think I got the fit 99% there but the grip safety occasionally binds somewhere on it, slightly sticking in the off position. If I remove any more metal the top pin hole will be no good (it may be already).

Any advice? Is this MSH still useable? Is there another brand that may fit better?

Can you take a little bit off the bottom of the GS?

Snorkel gave you a hint. The MSH and grip safety interact. Use a magic marker on the top of the MSH and all of the bottom of the grip safety to find where the interference is. Modify the grip safety to complete the install.

So... you don't have a caliper.

9/32" is .281"... which could be a worn out Government, but too small for an Officers.

The bore size for a Government MSH is, off the top of my head, .275" while a Officers measures about .311". 9/32" is neither.

C
Um....., .280" +.005" is the spec......so......9/32" is a good fractional equivalent, of a GM MSH bore..

"Too small for an Officers." The rod that fits into it is much smaller than the bore. The package reads "Colt Officers Model Mainspring Housing." The length difference between Officer and Government MSH is about 1/2" so I think we can safely dismiss the idea that my MSH is not an Officer MSH. Remember, this is a Citadel by Armscor so they may or may not follow JMB's specs to the nth degree on every single part.

Check that your trigger and track are clean and is returning full foward all the time, that is unless they are still rubbing in a spot.Marker them up.

Also,is an empty mag in the gun when it happens? If the disconnector pokes in the magwell it isn't returning the trigger foward all the way,so the tip of the arm may be hanging on the rear of the bow.
