OK, how des it work as far as candelpower to lumens ratio. For exsample, the sure fire puts out 65 lumens, the scorpion puts out 6500 candel power, whats the ratio? Ive read all the dfferent posts on which is preferred between the two flashlights, but I would like to know the ratio question.
I know the answer to this, but I'm to tired or lazy to remember. The guys at www.candlepowerforums.com can answer this one better than I can. Do a search under "lumens".
I called surefire once on this same question. I asked what their lumens would be in candle power. They said it was two completly different tests and there was no kind of conversion. They also said they don't do a candle power test
Frow what I've read, lumens are a measurement of light output at the bulb within a specific arc, while candlepower (expressed in candelas) has more to do with the amount of light which falls upon an area of the object being illuminated. Trying to compare the two sounds about as tricky as being able to directly convert horsepower to miles per gallon.
That's how I see it. Of course, I could be wrong.
