I saw the following and decided to give it a try and see if I like it...

Air gun Trigger Gun barrel Gun accessory Revolver

Mine isn't as pretty but it I'm happy with my dremel/file work... I contoured it so it's flush with the frame when engaged...

With the commander hammer, it's not looking/feeling like I'm going to get hammer bite but I can easily re-profile the back of the hammer a bit if I do.

Overall, it feels very comfortable, enables a high grip, and frame shape/tangs provide a decent "beavertail" shape.

Anybody else running a flush fit grip safety?

If that's supposed to aid concealment, it wouldn't be of any benefit if you didn't carry hammer-down.
The Detonics was conceived with hammer-down carry in mind.

I tried that back in the day. I would mess up and position my hand too high just often enough to convince me it wouldn't work for me. However, I always wanted to try one of those Jim Hoag beavertails, as shown in post #9.
But...but... now it's not a horse pistol! Actually guys have been doing that since the '70s and many people like how it carries AND how it shoots. We called it "bobbed" - not "flush". Never really caught on like them beaver tails though..... Now bob the hammer flush with the slide. Now you got something.
That's what HK does on USP Compact.

This is exactly what I have planned for an upcoming project with one difference. I'll be using a bobbed/spurless hammer as well.

True.

But what if you had a hammer drop safety?

Cylinder & Slide used to carry the Safety Fast System. Special hammer and thumb safety that allowed you to put the gun on safe and push the hammer forward. Then by pressing the safety down (off safe) it moved the hammer to the cocked position again. Essentially cocked and locked with the hammer down, but going off safe the hammer was ready to fire.

No, not for concealment...more for comfort. I like the way it feels much more than the GI style grip safety and it enables easier reach/access to the thumb safety as well. Kinda reminds me of my BHP.
