Python serial numbers for 1969 start at 90000 and end at 99999; The E1001 series started also. In general, it is better not to get a gun refinished if you are thinking that the new finish will add to the value. Depends on the gun too. If I was getting it refinished, I would send it to Colt.

I would not get one refinished unless it were very worn. As my local advanced collector used to say "100% deluxe custom reblue is Zero original finish." Which is all the collectors care about.
