Does anyone know if a dovetailed front sight is available that is made of black plastic, or some other material that will retain its color? The corners of the front sight on my EIC hardball pistol get shinny and I have to keep painting them with flat black paint.

Or is this something we must live with?

Jeez, I went out of my way to GET RID of the plastic sights on my Glock !!! I never would even THINK of putting plastic on my 1911's !!!

I know what you mean, though. I'm always touching up the front sight of my guns too.

Suggestion - use a black waterproof indelible marker - goes on easier than paint, and much quicker for touch-ups. I carry a marker in my range bag.

I usually rough the front sights on my gun with a #0 or #00 file to make some grooves that the blue will stick in and break the light a bit. Corners still get a little shiny but sure cuts on the glare.
