Here is my shakedown on the new SA Garrison! It shot WAYYYYYY better than anticipated. I'm still in disbelief! Enjoy!

When you say it shot way better than anticipated, how did you expect it to initially shoot? It appears to be a quality firearm from a reputable company, thus the expectation should be that it fires without issue and hits the target accordingly.

Just what I want, a Limited without those annoying front cocking serrations. But I think I'll wait till SA issues a Commander version.

I was not expecting one hole ragged groups at 10 yards freehand. Not for $800. Either I forgot how amazing the 1911's are or Springfield really knocked it outta the park. Either way I'm happy as hell lol

Thanks for the review! Looking at the garrison to be my first 1911.
I think you'll love it. Be prepared though, there may very well be a gap/hole under the thumb safety when it's engaged. SA seems to have a history of this. Watch Sootch's review of this pistol and you'll just barely see it on his example. My Ronin has it too.

If you do it, be aware that you will more than likely have a gap/hole under the thumb safety with the safety engaged. My Ronin has this. Apparently, this is considered normal. In the video at about 7 mins. notice the gap under the safety. If this doesn't bother you, you will love your Springfield 1911. Mine is a great shooter.

It's a nice-looking piece with plenty of old-school good looks. I'd be wanting one for myself if it wasn't for the fact that I already have a Colt set up just like it.
