I just read this start to finish. It appears requests for 38 Super abound. Keith is building me a PM-C in 38 S, which I think would be a very popular option.
Also, more blended magwell options. I hate the look of tactical mags sticking out of a non-magwell gun.
Love my Valkyrie Commander but would really love it more in a bobtail. Also 3-dot sight options as I don't care for the straight-8 type sights. That's the only thing I'd like to change on mine. Hell I even like the stock G10 grips.
Speaking of new models.... when will the new DW models for 2018 be announced? IIRC, it's usually around the time of the annual SHOT Show. Personally, I would like to see more options in calibers of existing models, especially, 38 Super, 10mm, and maybe even hunting calibers.
Has Dan Wesson ever made a custom milled for a red dot? A Specialist with a milled slide and co-witness sights would be useful. More and more of us older folks are having to shoot optics, so something to consider for the future.
I recently purchased a PM-9. I want a 45ACP big brother exactly like it - brushed stainless slide, front strap checkering, Clark rib, target sights with red FO front sight. This isn't currently made by Dan Wesson. Do they sell an Ambi Safety part with the brushed stainless finish to match?
You have several options:
1-Have DW build you a custom just the way you want it.
2-Buy a Silverback and replace the front sight and install an ambi safety.
3-Buy a Specialist and replace the sights with a fully adjustable rear for a Novak cut and a fiber optic front. Dawson can do this for you.
Jeff, Thanks for the detailed options ... good info here.
I'm a big fan of the full brushed stainless look for my DW range toys so the Specialist, Valor, and Silverback don't meet my aesthetic requirements.
So a custom PM7 .45 with front strap checkering, Clark rib, FO front sight, and an ambi-safety would be exactly what I want. I just can't go for it due to the expected price ... and they could easily make this as a factory model. I'd buy it now even w/o the ambi-safety.
