Have a nice 70 series Gold cup that I really like but would shoot more if it didn't have target sights. When I got it someone had already changed the safety and added an S&A magwell. Are Novak or Bomars adaptable to a flat top slide? Am I wrong to try to turn it into something it's not? Why not take something that has an excellent trigger and is very accurate and make it more usable than shooting paper? Thanks Truman

"Back in the day" when it was Colt or no one, many people used the Gold Cup as a carry/combat gun because of the better accuracy right out of the box.

About all that was really needed was a ramped front sight to replace the target Patridge and often to round off the sharp edges of the factory Ellison rear sight.
